Jenny Jones became the first Briton to ever win a medal on snow. The 33 year-old from Bristol did a clean technical run that initially saw her up for gold.
However, it was Jamie Anderson (USA) that became first woman to win gold in the first ever women’s slopestyle Olympic event. Silver went to Enni Rukajarvi of Finland.
‘I am just so happy right now,’ said Jones on her winning a bronze. She had a tearful onscreen reunion with her mum and dad, who had secretly flown in to see Jones do her first and final Olympic run.
Aimee Fuller failed to make it in to the final – but she did make a successful and entertaining appearance in the BBC commentary box. Her excitement was infectious and she was far more knowledgeable than the two BBC pundits.
Czech snowboarder, Sarka Pancochova, caught her edge and hit the floor hard cracking her helmet. She luckily walked away and managed to board down the slope.
Australian, Torah Bright, who is competing in all three snowboard disciplines, did a couple of solid runs but two arse taps saw her sore in the 60s to lose out on a medal.
