Kaya Turski Wins Gold at X Games Ski Slopestyle

Canada’s Kaya Turski has won her fourth X Games gold in the ski slopestyle on Sunday in Aspen, Colorado.

The Montreal native was competing just five months after having knee surgery. In a Canada vs USA final, Turski posted a 91.33 on her second run. Following close behind was 15-year-old, American, Maggie Voisin, who posted a score of 90.00.

Voisin was leading after her first run but Turski pipped her to the gold with two high scoring runs. Bronze went to another Canadian Kim Lamarre.

Voisin from Whitefish, Montana is the youngest US athlete competing in Sochi 2014. She is not the only young Rookie who has been turning heads in in the X games. On Saturday 13-year-old Chloe Kim also from the U.S. took sliver in the women’s snowboarding halfpipe event.

Turski and Kim Lamarre are representing Canada in Sochi 2014. The UK didn’t have anyone competing in this discipline.
