At the tender age of 12 Fuller moved to the US where she began carving up the east coast slopes. Since those early years the fearless Fuller has gone on to win Dachstein Pleasure Jam in 2011 and 2012 and is also one of the first Women to land a double back flip.

We talk to her about training and ask her what it would mean to win a medal at Sochi 2014.

When did you first learn to snowboard?
I tried it for a day when I was eight, and then got on a board more frequently at the age of 12 once I’d hung up my skis 😉

It’s clear that you love to snowboard, what is it about the sport that you love?
I love the freedom and the adrenaline rush you get when you land a new trick, it’s just the best! So my moto is to try something new every day no matter how small it is — that keeps the stoke buzzing.

When did you realise that snowboarding could be a career and not a hobby?
It just suddenly happened! It’s gone from being my dream to be able to escape to the mountains to now doing it daily, it’s unreal and I am so grateful.

Talk us through your training routine for Sochi 2014?
In the gym, four to five times a week. When I am at home I like to get out on the road bike. I do a bit of running and really just spending as much time on snow as possible – that’s the key for our sport really. Just being on the board, and being as fit and strong as possible, and injury free is KEY!

What would it mean to you to win a medal from Sochi 2014?
I think it would be the ultimate set up for me to snowboard for the rest of my life — which would be the icing on the cake really!

What is your top tip to tackling jumps?
Start out small and work your way up till you feel confident and ready to attack the bigger boys!

Where is your favourite place to snowboard?
I love Mammoth in the Spring and Austria in the Autumn. Both at the start and the end of the season as you often get to explore the landscape around the mountains once you have finished snowboarding for the day – glacial dips, and then hot springs in Mammoth is awesome.

What do you do to chill out?
Hang with the boyfriend, and my mates back home, switch off the phone and computer and just be with the family, that’s important to me 🙂
